Zika Certificate Required By China

China just added the U.S. to its list of Zika-infected countries. Now, all containers arriving from the U.S. must have a mosquito eradication certificate. AHEC reports that the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service views this as a health issue pertaining to all shipping containers and not a timber or agricultural products phytosanitary issue. Chinese customs will fumigate all containers without a certificate at the port of entry, at a cost of approximately 3RMB (about 45 cents) per ton of cargo.
