ITC Votes To Maintain Engineered Flooring Duties On Chinese Imports

By a vote of 4-0, the International Trade Commission will maintain antidumping and countervailing duties on multi-layered wood flooring imports from China. The required sunset review of the original determination imposing duties leaves in place the legal framework to impose duties based on Commerce Department findings of subsidies and dumping. Jeff Levin, counsel for the U.S. Coalition for Hardwood Parity, welcomed the Commission’s affirmation that the U.S. industry continues to be threatened by illegally dumped and subsidized Chinese imports. He stated: "We also look forward to continued rigorous enforcement of these orders." Current duties range from 0 to 58.84%, depending on the manufacturer. The duties for illegally subsidized and dumped MLWF have been in place for the last 5 years and are reviewed annually by Commerce.
