HFF Reports Significant Progress in JGI Chimp Project

The Hardwood Forestry Fund (HFF), a Reston VA based 501( c) (3), partnered with The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) in 1999 to plant 16,000 seedlings of four native Tanzanian tree species (Afzelia, African Blackwood, African Mahogany, and Muninga)in the Kitwe Forest in Tanzania. “In 2009, 11,731 of these seedlings (73%) had survived”, said Jim Martin, HFF Board member, who visited the project this summer.
